Poster sessions have to relate to the conference theme: Elevations: The Networking library. The conference focuses on the point of elevation where quality, relevance and knowledge are taken to a higher level. Where engaging in strategic networking and user based innovation make an important difference, in both the physical and digital libraries. The selection of the poster sessions will be based on the theme of the conference in regards to range, innovation and originality.
Sample topics include:
• Libraries undertaking and participating in untraditional partnerships
• User based innovation
• Transformation room, creative spaces & the physical library
• Networking in connection with lifelong learning
• Competencies and new roles for the staff in the networking library
• The user’s library – web 2.0, library 2.0 - The Networking library melting pot.
• Involving users in designing new libraries
• Other networking and innovation related topics.
Poster sessions will be presented on 11. June 2006 at the conference venue in the Music Hall, Aarhus, both as a separate item of the program as well as generally during the conference.
A requirement for participating in the poster sessions is a description of the poster, information about your organisation and an enclosed CV.
Each participant (limited to 10- 20 participants) will have a table and a poster board at their disposal. You may use the table to display a poster board or any other appropriate display you can fit on the table. No other equipment will be provided, but you may bring your own. You should be able to reach an electrical outlet with an extension cord. Furthermore there will be access to a wireless network.
All attendees will receive a list of participants with the title of each presentation, a brief description and contact information. Generally attendees browse through the tables, pick up handouts and stop to visit when a topic attracts their attention. The poster sessions are an easy way to access a lot of information in a limited amount of time. It is much like a mini-exhibit. We expect around 300 people attending the conference. You need to bring your own handouts.
Fee: One author from each poster is eligible for the discounted conference rate of 200 EURO, not including social events, Conference dinner, transport and accommodation.
Publication: Poster sessions will be listed in the conference program and on the conference website.
