Excursion to Ebeltoft, the Frigate Jutland and the Glass Museum Sunday 13 June 2004 13.30 – 17.45
Departing from the hotels, we leave the City of Aarhus and drive North through the beautiful Eastern part of Jutland along Ebeltoft Vig to Ebeltoft - a small and picturesque town dating back to the Middle Ages. Our first visit is to the Frigate Jutland, the last full-rigged oak ship of the Danish Navy, where you get a good impression of life on board. It was built and launched at the Orlogs-shipyard in 1860 and restored in 1993 (10 years work).
Coffee and cake will be served at the Frigate. Afterwards there will be an opportunity to visit the Glass Museum with its fine exhibition of modern glass made by both Danish and international artists. In the small workshops in the garden you can watch various artists work. Finally, participants can take a stroll through the old cobbled streets on their own or with the guide, and visit the romantic old Town Hall built in timber frame or go shopping. At 17.00 the bus leaves for the reception at ARoS, Museum of Art. A multilingual guide will accompany you on the tour. Price per person DKK 275,-
The tour is based on a minimum of 30 participants. |
