In 1978 Bente Buchhave graduated as a librarian from the Royal School of Library and Information Science, Denmark.

Through more than 25 years her intention has been to ensure the optimum meeting between culture and child/groups of children – whether the platform being the public library, the Royal School of Library and Information Science or the Danish National Library Authority.

Since March 2006 Bente Buchave has been working freelance.
